“It’s silly to see such beauty” is like an echo in my mind, and I don’t think it’s silly, but there’s something majestic about the thought. I suppose it kind of is, but that puts me in a never ending circle.
This felt like a quiet meditation more than a poem. The repeated line, *"It's silly to have seen beauty,"* carries so much irony it made me think about how easily we trade wonder for productivity and forget what truly makes life meaningful. Thank you for sharing something that invites readers to pause and reflect.
You have such a deep soul/mind, too, huh? I love this about Substack. I can’t thank you enough for reading, let alone commenting! It truly means the world
McKenna, this was beautiful — the contrast between all the beauty we get to witness and the “grey division” we’re asked to live inside really stayed with me. Yes, I dream with you.
There is so much complexity in the universe, neutron stars, black holes, galaxies etc and yet we're confined to the humble boundaries of our planet which has infinite complexities of its own
The mere fact of being aware of it all makes me wonder what it is all for
it's silly to have seen beauty, no more than knowing what beauty even is
Thank you so much for sharing another masterpiece of yours 🙃
It's always lovely to read what you have to say and ponder afterwards <3
But also funny, you mention 'the universe, neutron stars, black holes, galaxies etc' I've been on a deep research dive with quantum physics, specifically entropy & then informational theory.
Applying the idea of 'chaos' in my book, creating my own theory of thinking/time with social media haha
Beautifully written. 🙂 Sometimes we're so busy chasing success that we forget to appreciate the beauty that's already around us.
I fear it happens far too often! Even when looking at our work buildings they are so grey…hopefully color can join the picture again!
Reading that poem is like breathing fresh air again. I especially loved the words, 'It’s silly to have seen beauty'.
To hear, see, walk and breathe.
Every corner touched by so much more:
Green grass, thumbs, leaves.'
The rhythm is impeccable — such poetry, such softness. Thank you for reminding us how to breathe. This is a lovely poem. 🌺
You are truly so kind, I can’t thank you enough for liking my work! You just motivated me for my day!
you deserve it
I am happy to be connected :)
